Okay, rumours have been dropped that a new series might be in development.  (See this topic)
So...

When, where...etc would you like it to be set?

How about?

A series focused around another race or organisation rather than the federation?

One set between Kirk and Picards time?

What do you all think?

Hmmm that is tough choice but I would like to see more of Kirk's team with a lot different characters from all the series.

I don't know about the Alternate Universe... they pretty much wrapped that up in DS9, unless they go back in time and have it occur sometime around Kirk's time... but that would just seem weird.

How about the idea that had been proposed of a Starfleet: Academy series?

With the Nova Squadron around, what could be more exciting?  Grin

Ok, I grant you, it will probably turn out as soap-operaish as Voyager turned out, which for me was a huge let down in terms of a ST series.  But others enjoyed that aspect.

There have been several, and of course there is always the arguement of "There is a first time for everything."

Oh well FINE. ENTERPRISE is a soap opera because of everything that they have on it... and all of the drama is a little too annoying. ENTERPRISE is giving star trek a bad name...

I've always said this, but if George Takei is willing, they could still do a series based off of his crew.  We might even be able to see some of such reoccurring characters as Dax, Koloth, Kang, just to name a few. Otherwise, they could do a series based off of the supposed 8th season of DS9, which is the series of books that are out right now.

One last thought, how about doing a series based off of Riker and the Titan? You've got two established figures on the series, which I think is something that Enterprise is missing.

I don't know, their all too old.  Considering Rand and Sulu were both on that vessel.  Plus Tuvok was on their for a while, and you have to bring in D'Mitri as well, even though he did eventually end up dying.

How about a show with Demora Sulu?  That would be the same time frame, but slightly different.

Yeah, but then you should do a series with the Enterprise-B, or you might as well do one with it. Bring back the guy that plays Harriman, he's still young enough.

Demora was introduced to us in ST:VII (Generations).  And yes, she was the daughter of Hiraku Sulu, we don't know who the mother is however.  But it is not suspected to be an illigitimate child, just one we never heard about, possibly because Hikaru didn't know about the child himself.
